Hi I'm Debbie,

My childcare career started when I was 15 years old babysitting for local families, after this I worked in a playgroup setting and reception class. I absolutely loved both placements and I knew I had  made the right decision to work with children. On leaving college I was lucky enough to become a nanny for two gorgeous families.  I was so happy to be doing what Id set out to do, however as we know children grow up and in time I was no longer needed so I went to work at Kiddiwinks pre-school. Alongside Kiddiwinks I also worked at Whistlestop day nursery which was run by the same company. It was great having the variety of the two work places, I learnt so  many skills that I still use to this day. My sister Tracy was also working at Whistlestop day nursery, life really couldn’t get any better, not only were we doing something we had a passion for, we were doing it together. Being together everyday was so much fun and when we both decided it was time to move on, we did just that.... together.  Working in a nursery environment was great but we missed being nannies.  I was so lucky to find a family, a little girl of 2 years and a new born, being involved with a family again was amazing, it was even more wonderful when I was told another little bundle of joy was coming along 3 years later. After 11 years it was finally time to leave and find more families to help. I was so lucky to find a family that i adore with two children aged 9 years and 1. I currently nanny for them 2 days a week. I also help two new families with their little ones both aged 6 months, so lovely to have babies in my care again.  The bond we all have is pretty awesome! Over the past 20+ years I have become apart of each and everyone of my families lives. I have travelled with them to beautiful places and spent many happy occasions with them, we are extremely close and we all work brilliantly as a team. A bond that will forever be there. I really couldn't be happier, life really is amazing when you do what you love!  I whole heartedly put any child in my care first and their individual needs will always be met, whether its a cuddle or helping them achieve their own little goals in life. I build bonds with any child I work with, parents too. To them I’m a stranger and its my job to make them feel safe and comfortable. Whether its a full day or a few hours babysitting I can make an impact on their life and bring laughter and smiles to their gorgeous little faces. We may only have the pleasure for a short while with your little ones, but to them we will become a lovely memory.

Hey I'm Tracy, younger one of this double duo.

My childcare career started when I was 17. I left school at 16 not really knowing what I wanted to do, I really struggled with the academic side of school and the last thing I wanted to do was sit in a class room after spending the last 11 years behind a desk! I'm an out doorsy, active, crazy, adventure seeking type of person. After leaving school I took a job as a sales adviser in an appliance company, not my greatest move as I was bored and knew very quickly that I wasn't following my heart, however everything happens for a reason and I was grateful for the skills I learnt in my time there. I was lucky enough to help out at a club called tumble tots and through the club I met a lovely family with 4 children which I would babysit for and also take solo charge of at weekends. I knew from this experience that I had found my calling.  I decided to put myself on a childcare course, and applied for a nursery assistant role at Whistlestop day nursery and I got the job! They say the rest is history... But of course will fill you in...I was lucky enough to work alongside my sister at Whistlestop
which of course was great fun, as we are pretty inseparable. I learnt so many skills completing my MNT level 2 in childcare along the way which was a great accomplishment for me. I had fire in my belly but the nursery setting kind of became a secluded box for me, this is when my sisiter and I Debbie decided to become fulltime nannies. I haven't looked back since, 15 years later I have worked with some of the most wonderful families and been on an incredible journey with all of the children I have been lucky enough to look after. It's just a shame they all grow up, that's the tough part of our job, when you have to leave a family you have been apart of for so many years .I'm happy to say I'm still in contact with most of my families and they sure enjoy making me feel old when they tell me what the kiddies are up to now!  Since starting Save the Day Childcare in 2016 I decided this year to cut my hours down with some of my families to really concentrate on our dream. Of course I'm still extremely busy and happy to say I'm still with three wonderful families that I split across my week, leaving me to have some extra time to concentrate on networking with local businesses and meeting lots of brides to help make their day truly special. Whatever the reason we may be looking after your little one we aim to make it a fun, exciting, safe and truly memorable experience.
